The German American Club of the
Treasure Coast will celebrate its 15th annual Oktoberfest
this October 6th, 7th and 8th,
2017. In 2003 the first festival was held at the old Village Green
Shopping Center on US1 where space was limited for food, dance, music
and of course beer. A vision of then City Councilman Christopher Cooper. That shopping center was latter demolished and the event
then moved to Lyngate Park. This location was larger and allowed the
event to grow. However, parking then became a major issue. The old
Village Green location became home to the newly constructed very popular 100,000 square foot Port St
Lucie Civic Center and with the move to the Civic Center, those
problems are a thing of the past. The Village Square has a bandstand,
interactive play fountain, dance floor, plenty of vendor space, German and American beers and
foods, and at no charge a large parking garage that can house 802
vehicles.
The popularity of this event has caused
it to change locations three times. The City of Port St Lucie and the German American Club of the
Treasure Coast is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing and
most popular Oktoberfest events on the Treasure Coast. We look
forward to seeing you this fall and celebrating all 3 days of Oktoberfest 2017 with
us.
